Volkswagen Amarok 2023

Volkswagen Amarok 2023

Early in 2023, the 2023 Volkswagen Amarok will make its way to Australia. With assembly taking place in South Africa, production for the domestic market will start in late October. This will enable faster shipping times than the outgoing model, which was built in Argentina, and is crucial given the ongoing shortage of semiconductor chips.

The second-generation Amarok ute, which shares its platform with the recently released “T6.2” 2023 Ford Ranger, has reportedly received an overwhelming number of inquiries, according to Volkswagen Australia.

The new trims include Amarok, Life, Style, Panamericana, and Aventura.

The Ford Ranger also uses these engines, but only the diesel versions are available in Australia, giving the Amarok a distinct advantage over its closely related twin. Notably, a six-speed manual transmission will be available on the base Amarok, joining standard features previously available only on the most expensive Ranger models. These features include LED headlights, a wireless phone charger, and a trailer brake controller.

Although a model with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter petrol V6 that can compete with the Ranger Raptor is unlikely, the brand will continue to work with Walkinshaw for locally adapted variants. It now becomes possible for an Amarok W-Series with a four-cylinder petrol engine to join models with the premium V6 diesel engine. Since the Amarok’s global debut four weeks ago, customers have flooded Volkswagen dealers with inquiries and deposits, according to Ryan Davies, director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Australia.
